Silver “Flower” Money on Sterling Silver Chain
Excavated 16th-century Burmese silver “flower” currency on sterling silver chain. Rare silver ingot disc with flower pattern which was formed after casting, during the cooling process. The silversmith blew on each disc through a straw and the pattern only formed if the silver was of sufficient purity. The flowery pattern was a mark of pure silver.
